Don’t Let Your Emails Get Friend-Zoned

Most emails are dead on arrival.

They don’t get opened.

And the few that do? They barely survive the first sentence before being tossed into the digital graveyard.

Why?

Because most emails are boring. Bland. Forgettable.

They don’t spark curiosity. They don’t deliver value. They don’t matter.

If you can’t grab their attention in 5 seconds flat, you’re toast.
Swiped. Deleted. Worse? Marked as spam.

Here’s the brutal reality: Your audience doesn’t care about you.

Not your brand. Not your story. Not your clever wordplay.

They care about one thing: What’s in it for me?

And if your subject line doesn’t sizzle with intrigue… if your hook doesn’t yank them in by the collar with relevance and urgency…
You’ve lost them.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Even if you somehow get their attention, your email has to deliver.

It’s not enough to be “interesting.” Your email needs to make them feel something. Excitement. Curiosity. A gut-level need to keep reading.

And then comes the finish line—the call to action.

“Learn more?” Weak.
“Read this?” Forgettable.

A killer CTA doesn’t just ask for a click. It demands one.
It’s not polite—it’s magnetic.
It creates FOMO so intense, they’d rather cancel lunch than miss out.

But let’s not sugarcoat it: Most emails miss the mark because the writer didn’t even try.

They phoned it in. Wrote words, not experiences. Checked a box, rather than solving a problem.

Here’s the thing: This doesn’t have to be you.

Fixing bad emails isn’t magic. It’s not rocket science. It’s a formula(more on that in the next issue of InBoXer).

And once you nail it, you’ll never send another ignored email again.

Because great emails don’t just get opened. They don’t just get clicks.

They get remembered.

They build trust.
Drive action.
Turn readers into customers, customers into raving fans.

So stop settling for mediocrity. Your audience deserves better—and so do you.
